Conversation with Shrikant Bhai
In this segment of "Sustainable Change at the bottom of Pyramid" we bring to you some very powerful stories of simple and hardworking people at the bottom of the pyramid. Sharing the fourth video of the series in association with "CInI- Collective for Integrated Livelihoods Initiative" who have been successfully running the "Lakhpati Kisan" program with the tribal community in central Indian states. Today, we are in conversation with Shrikant bhai from Kheroj Village, Sabarkantha district in Gujarat, who is a manager at SAFE producer company ltd. This processing unit helps the farmers to process their raw produce like dals, pulses, vegetables, turmeric and sell these products in a collective fashion to bigger markets. The profit made out of this is entirely distributed amongst the farmers and hence the farmers find it much more beneficial to sell their produce to SAFE rather than marketing it individually. The current turnover of SAFE is 149 lakhs and nearly 12000 farmers and their families are currently benefiting from it. If you want to know more about CInI or Lakhpati Kisan program, you can go ahead and watch the podcast with Ganesh Neelam who leads the program.
