Convo with Navli Ben from Sahada village, Dahod, Gujarat

In this segment of "Sustainable Change at the bottom of Pyramid" we bring to you some very powerful stories of simple and hardworking people at the bottom of the pyramid. Sharing the tenth video of the series in association with "CInI- Collective for Integrated Livelihoods Initiative" who have been successfully running the "Lakhpati Kisan" program within tribal communities of India. Today, we are talking to Navli ben from Sahada Village, Dahod district in Gujarat. Navli ben used to cultivate maize earlier which didn't have much margins for profit and had very high cultivation costs. After enrolling in the program, CInI and Sadguru foundation helped her to understand the importance of proper irrigation, seeds, fertilisers and cleanliness. She also started cultivating other crops which increased her income from INR 35,000 to INR 200,000 annually. She is able to provide better opportunities and education to her family. She is now respected by her family and urges all the women to go out and work.
